Due to the lack of safe drinking water in tribal villages, annually thousands of villagers get affected with Viral Fevers, Diarrheoa, Cerebral Malaria, etc, which ultimately lead to Untimely Deaths. Provision of Medical Services in these tribal villages is not possible always, as they are situated in hillocks and deep valleys, which are not easily accessible. As the root cause of all these deaths is impure and improper drinking water, provision of safe drinking water would be an appropriate solution. Keeping this in mind, D SARADA TRUST initiated a Gravity Drinking Water Supply Scheme – JALADHAARA, aimed at providing Safe and Purified Drinking Water. Jaladhaara mainly targets to tap spring waters which are available in abundance in tribal areas, divert and store them in a small reservoir or built up tanks, purify them thoroughly by Custom Built Filtration Chambers/Beds/Tanks and then supply to all the tribal villages surrounding the spring through pipelines. And all this is done, without any intervention and use of either Electrical or Mechanical Power. The first scheme of Jaladhaara, was taken up in Ananthagiri Mandal near Borra Caves, where 3 villages Baliguda, Doraguda and Kothavalasa are supplied with Safe and Pure Drinking Water. The scheme was inaugurated by Sri. Brinda Karat, MP, Rajya Sabha

Till date a total of 32 Tribal Villages in a total of 11 Mandals have been covered through Jaladhaara Scheme.
