Apart from Iliteracy and Health Ailments, Child Marriages are still being practised as a custom and effecting thousands of Female Folk. To counter child marriages and fight towards its abolition, D Sarada Trust is carrying out awareness campaigns against child marriages by organizing “JEEP JATHA”. JEEP JATHA is a cultural troop with a number of artists who perform theme oriented plays such as Abolition of Child Marriages, Malnutrition, Eradication of Superstitions, etc ., spreading social awareness amongst the locals. Through this, we have covered all 11 Mandals reaching over 20,000 people. In another “JEEP JATHA” programme, awareness campaigning was carried on Malnutrition for 10 days 20th to 29th December, 2010 in Paderu, Pedabayulu, Munchingputtu, Hukumpeta, Dumbriguda, Araku and Ananthagiri Mandals As a part of Social Awareness Campaign, a Seminar named “SAVE ENVIRONMENT” was organized on 11-07-2010 at Srinagar Colony in which GVMC Additional Commissioner participated as Chief Guest and addressed the gathering.
