Free Legal Aid for Women

In 2005, D. Sarada Trust took a significant step toward empowering women by establishing a Free Legal Aid Centre in Visakhapatnam city. Situated on the National Highway in Kancharapalem, the centre is staffed with experienced lawyers and trained volunteers dedicated to supporting women in need of legal assistance.

The primary focus of the Free Legal Aid Centre is to address family disputes and other legal challenges faced by women, providing effective solutions and legal guidance. It offers crucial support to victims of domestic violence, child marriage, and fraudulent activities, ensuring they receive justice and protection.

Since its inception, the centre has handled 1,050 cases, successfully resolving over 1,000 cases. By offering prompt assistance to affected women, the Free Legal Aid Centre not only ensures justice but also promotes amicable conflict resolution. This initiative plays a vital role in improving the status of women in society by safeguarding their rights and promoting gender equality.

Seminars for Awareness on Public Sector Undertakings

Since 2015, D. Sarada Trust has been actively organizing state-level awareness programs to educate the public about the importance of public sector undertakings (PSUs). These initiatives aim to highlight the significant role PSUs play in the socio-economic development of various communities and the invaluable services they provide in enhancing the quality of life. The Trust has received widespread appreciation for its efforts in spreading awareness on these crucial matters.

As part of these initiatives, the "Save Vizag Steel Plant" awareness program held in 2015 received an overwhelming response. This event effectively raised awareness about the importance of the Vizag Steel Plant, emphasizing its positive impact on numerous villages and families, especially in Visakhapatnam, while also addressing future concerns. Retired High Court Judge Justice Chandrakumar and current High Court Judge Smt. Rajani graced the event as chief guests. Eminent lawyers, Members of Parliament, and local representatives attended in large numbers, elaborating on the vital role of PSUs in revenue generation and the necessity for informed decision-making to promote sustainable development.

Nutrition Awareness Programs (2016-2017)

In 2016 and 2017, Sarada Trust expanded its awareness efforts by focusing on nutrition and health-related issues. Special seminars were conducted in Araku (2016) and Anakapalle (2017) to educate local communities about malnutrition, its health effects, and preventive measures. Medical experts and nutritionists participated in these sessions, providing valuable insights on balanced diets, immunity-boosting practices, and healthy eating habits.

The financial support for these programs was generously provided by the family of D. Sarada, contributing Rs. 4 lakhs towards their successful execution.

Through these ongoing initiatives, D. Sarada Trust continues to make a significant impact by raising public awareness on critical issues related to public welfare, health, and the role of PSUs in national development.
